HYCAP announce new COO

HYCAP, the leading energy transition investor, today announced the arrival of a new Chief Operating Officer as it continued to build on a strong year of growth.
Samantha Dunn joins the Oxford-based firm following spells at Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs and a boutique hedge fund, holding senior management positions throughout, leading to her most recent role as Chief Financial Officer.
HYCAP CEO James Munce said Samantha’s experience across all asset classes over the last decade would be of enormous value to both the team and the portfolio.
“Samantha has gained so much experience in so many disciplines throughout her career that her appointment is a real coup for the group,” James explained.
“We are constantly driving the team to deliver more for our investors and for the businesses in our portfolio, so to get a COO with experience across the sector, from compliance, legal and accounting to investor relations, business development and fundraising, is a major asset.”
The new appointment continues 2025 in the same productive vein as 2024, where HYCAP announced further deals with Liquid Wind, a green electrofuel development company, Yamna, a global green hydrogen platform, Ion Ventures, a BESS & Solar developer, and fintech software providers Zeti.
Investing across the net zero value chain, HYCAP portfolio companies also include Wrightbus, a world-leader in EV and hydrogen fuel cell buses, Ryze, which transports and distributes renewable energy, and Hygen, a hydrogen production facility.
Samantha said she was delighted to be part of a highly-focused team, delivering some of the key solutions of this generation.
“I’d made a strategic decision to get out of the City and move to Oxfordshire, and joining HYCAP has given me the opportunity to do so whilst embarking on an exciting new chapter in my career. I’m proud to be part of a dynamic business that is taking the lead in energy transition and building a better future.
“Although I’m only a week into the role I’ve already been impressed by the strength of the team and the desire within the business to make a tangible difference on the road to net zero.”
